Georgia Department of Transportation

Engineers Association

The Georgia Department of Transportation Engineers Association (GDOTEA) is an Association of and for the employees of the Georgia Department of Transportation.

When founded in 1959, the Association consisted of 125 Members and 52 Associate Members. Twenty years later in Constitutional Assembly, the Associate Membership classification was abolished, so that now, any permanent employee of the Department of Transportation is eligible for membership.

The accomplishments of the Association have been significant. Perhaps the most meaningful would be the establishment of a solid working relationship with the Georgia General Assembly. When real needs of the Association membership are defined and presented to the Legislature by means of Resolution, the Legislature has been highly responsive in our favor.

Any technician, environmentalist, engineer, or field maintenance worker has an opportunity to join and to make a contribution to this proud Association.

Membership in the GDOTEA today means another step in making employment with the DOT more challenging, with greater opportunities for the betterment of the working world for ourselves, our fellow workers, and the people of this State, who deserve the very best.
